Where to check Swindon traffic now
This page does not provide live traffic data. For an A419 closure, an incident on a major road or an unexpected delay, check National Highways' current incidents and travel updates before you leave. Search by road name and confirm the direction and time of any notice.
For planned roadworks and local road closures, use the One.Network map and select the Swindon area. Notices can change, so check the source again close to your journey.
How to use local traffic stories
The Old Town Crier's transport articles are satire based on linked reporting. They are not a live traffic feed, and a headline mentioning the A419 or a road closure should never be treated as confirmation that a route is currently open or shut.
For a current journey, rely on the official live sources below and follow the signs on the road. The latest transport stories are shown separately when we have relevant published coverage.
